Nanorobotics in Precision Engineering and Manufacturing: Advancements, Applications, and Future Prospects

Dr. Kavita Meher, Rajeev Kumar Jha, Neha Rameshwaran

Abstract

Nanorobotics is rapidly emerging as a transformative force in the fields of precision engineering and advanced manufacturing. By enabling the manipulation and assembly of materials at the nanoscale, nanorobots offer unprecedented levels of accuracy, repeatability, and automation. This paper explores the foundational principles of nanorobotics, the fabrication techniques for constructing functional nanorobots, and the critical role they play in electronics manufacturing, biomedical device development, and microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Emphasis is placed on their autonomous capabilities, integration with control systems, and scalability for industrial applications. The paper also discusses current challenges, ethical considerations, and the promising future trajectory of nanorobotics in smart and sustainable manufacturing ecosystems.
