Homoeopathy in the Management of Sinusitis Following ENT Surgery: A Comprehensive Review on Therapeutic Approaches, Clinical Outcomes and Future Perspectives
Abstract
Sinusitis following ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) surgery represents a common postoperative complication characterized by inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, leading to nasal congestion, facial pain, headache, and impaired quality of life. Conventional treatment involves antibiotics, nasal decongestants, and corticosteroids; however, long-term use may result in drug resistance, adverse effects, and incomplete resolution of symptoms. Homoeopathy, as a holistic and individualized therapeutic system, has shown potential in managing postoperative sinusitis by stimulating the body’s vital defense mechanisms and reducing inflammatory responses. This paper aims to explore the role of homoeopathy in managing sinusitis after ENT surgery, reviewing its mechanisms, commonly used remedies, clinical outcomes, challenges, and future scope. Although empirical evidence is limited, clinical observations suggest that homoeopathic interventions may offer adjunctive benefits, reduce dependency on conventional drugs, and improve patient recovery and overall well-being.
