Homoeopathic Interventions in Post-Operative Pain Management in Dental Surgery: A Comprehensive Review of Efficacy, Challenges, and Future Perspectives
Abstract
Post-operative pain is a common complication following dental surgical procedures and significantly impacts patient recovery, comfort, and overall oral health. Conventional pain management primarily relies on non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and opioids, which may lead to adverse effects such as gastrointestinal irritation, addiction potential, and delayed wound healing. Homoeopathy, as an alternative and complementary therapeutic approach, has gained attention for its potential in mitigating post-operative pain with minimal side effects. This paper provides a comprehensive review of homoeopathic interventions in post-operative dental pain management, highlighting commonly used remedies, mechanisms of action, clinical evidence, challenges, and future perspectives. Through examination of available studies and clinical experiences, the paper aims to offer a holistic understanding of the role of homoeopathy in enhancing post-surgical recovery and patient comfort in dental practice.
