Homoeopathic Approaches to Improve Wound Healing in Dental Implant Surgery: An Insight into Complementary Strategies for Postoperative Recovery
Abstract
Dental implant surgery has become a cornerstone of modern restorative dentistry, offering predictable outcomes for tooth replacement and functional rehabilitation. However, optimal wound healing remains critical for both osseointegration and soft tissue repair. Conventional postoperative management includes antimicrobial therapy, analgesics, and anti-inflammatory medications, but these may be associated with side effects and limitations in specific patient populations. Homoeopathy, a complementary therapeutic system based on the principle of “like cures like,” proposes the use of highly diluted remedies to stimulate the body’s intrinsic healing responses. This paper reviews the scientific principles of wound healing in dental implantology, explores homoeopathic approaches that have been proposed to modulate postoperative recovery, examines current evidence, and discusses potential mechanisms and clinical considerations. While homoeopathy remains controversial within evidence-based medicine, emerging integrative frameworks suggest areas for rigorous research. This comprehensive review aims to provide clinicians and researchers with balanced insights into homoeopathic strategies for wound management following dental implant placement.
