Quantum Computing and Quantum Algorithms: A Comprehensive Study on Emerging Paradigms, Computational Principles, and Future Technological Transformation

Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Meenakshi R. Banerjee

Abstract

Quantum computing represents a paradigm shift from classical computational models, leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics—superposition, entanglement, and probabilistic measurement—to achieve exponential speedups in specific problem domains. This paper presents a comprehensive review of quantum computing foundations, quantum algorithms, technological advancements, challenges, and future directions. Emphasis is placed on algorithmic breakthroughs such as Shor’s factoring algorithm, Grover’s search algorithm, and emerging hybrid quantum–classical approaches. The discussion highlights the practical feasibility of quantum devices, the complexity of error correction, and the evolving landscape of quantum software frameworks. The paper concludes by outlining the long-term impact of quantum computing on fields such as cybersecurity, optimization, materials science, and artificial intelligence.
