Authors:Dr. Anjali Deshmukh,  Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh

Abstract: Pediatric pain management remains a critical yet complex component of nursing care, requiring a holistic and child-centered approach. Due to developmental differences, children often experience and express pain differently from adults, presenting unique challenges in assessment and intervention. Effective pain management is essential not only for immediate comfort but also to prevent long-term psychological and physiological consequences. This paper explores nursing strategies aimed at enhancing pain management in pediatric patients, emphasizing evidence-based practices, communication techniques, family involvement, and the use of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Through a review of current literature, identification of key challenges, and discussion of future directions, this paper aims to highlight the integral role of nurses in delivering comfort care that is safe, compassionate, and developmentally appropriate for children across healthcare settings.
