Dr. Meenakshi Swamy, Dr. Sarita Goel

Abstract

The growing concern over climate change, environmental degradation, and excessive exploitation of natural resources has significantly influenced global discussions surrounding sustainable development. Traditional economic growth models have largely focused on industrial expansion and profit generation, often neglecting environmental consequences. In response to these concerns, green technology has emerged as an essential mechanism for achieving sustainable economic progress. Green technology refers to environmentally responsible innovations designed to minimize ecological damage, improve resource efficiency, reduce pollution, and support long-term developmental goals. The adoption of such technologies has become increasingly important for industries, governments, and societies seeking to balance economic development with environmental sustainability. This study examines how green technology adoption contributes to sustainable economic growth by analyzing its role in improving industrial efficiency, encouraging innovation, generating employment opportunities, and reducing environmental costs. The study concludes that green technological transformation has become a critical factor in shaping future sustainable economies.
