Abstract

Education plays a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of Bangladesh, yet the system faces persistent challenges that hinder its effectiveness and inclusivity. This paper critically examines the present state of education in Bangladesh, identifying key issues such as inadequate infrastructure, shortages of qualified teachers, curriculum misalignment with labor market needs, and disparities in access for marginalized populations. The study highlights systemic challenges including political interference, limited financial resources, and insufficient integration of modern technology in teaching and learning processes. Despite these obstacles, the paper explores prospects for improvement through policy reforms, enhanced community engagement, international collaboration, and strategic technological integration. The findings underscore the necessity of a multifaceted approach to reform, emphasizing that sustainable educational development in Bangladesh requires coordinated efforts to improve quality, equity, and relevance across all levels of the education system. The study provides actionable insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders committed to fostering an inclusive and effective educational framework capable of supporting national development goals.
