Abstract


Psychiatric nursing has undergone significant transformation in recent decades due to evolving healthcare needs, increased awareness of mental health issues, and advancements in medical and digital technologies. Psychiatric nurses now play a critical role in promoting mental wellness, preventing mental illness, and providing holistic care across diverse healthcare settings. This paper explores the expanding role of psychiatric nurses in modern mental health care systems, focusing on clinical practice, community engagement, therapeutic communication, digital health integration, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It also highlights challenges faced by psychiatric nurses and suggests strategies to strengthen their role in improving mental health outcomes. The study emphasizes the importance of continuous professional development, ethical practice, and patient-centered care in achieving comprehensive mental wellness.
