Abstract

ABSTRACT

The increasing global demand for sustainable energy has accelerated the integration of distributed renewable energy sources (DRES) into power systems. Distributed renewable energy sources, such as solar photovoltaic (PV), wind turbines, and small-scale hydroelectric systems, offer significant benefits, including energy security, reduced transmission losses, and environmental sustainability. However, their integration presents technical, economic, and regulatory challenges, including grid stability, variability, and control issues. This paper reviews recent advances in the integration of DRES, highlighting system architectures, control strategies, and optimization techniques. Key challenges such as voltage fluctuations, frequency stability, and grid synchronization are discussed. Furthermore, modern solutions, including smart grids, energy storage systems, and advanced forecasting methods, are analyzed. The study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of DRES integration and suggest future research directions.
