Energy Storage Systems & Hybrid Renewable Power

Suman Mahajan, Deepesh Singh, Prem Nagar

Abstract

The increasing global energy demand, coupled with environmental concerns, has accelerated the deployment of renewable energy sources. Solar, wind, and other renewable resources are inherently intermittent, leading to challenges in power reliability and grid stability. Energy Storage Systems (ESS) play a vital role in mitigating these fluctuations, providing backup power, and enabling efficient energy management. Hybrid Renewable Power (HRP) systems, which integrate multiple renewable energy sources with ESS, offer improved reliability, cost efficiency, and sustainability. This paper reviews various energy storage technologies, their integration with hybrid renewable systems, and the current research trends. Advantages, limitations, and practical applications of ESS and hybrid systems are discussed. Furthermore, challenges in scaling and future research directions are presented to guide further developments in sustainable energy solutions.
