Enhancing Global Health Equity through Advanced Nursing Practice and Research Initiatives
Abstract
Global health equity refers to the attainment of the highest possible standard of health for all people, regardless of geographic location, socioeconomic status, race, or ethnicity. However, health disparities remain deeply rooted in systemic, cultural, and financial barriers. This paper discusses the transformative role of advanced nursing practice (ANP) and research in reducing global health inequities. As frontline providers and community leaders, nurses are uniquely positioned to address social determinants of health, initiate policy change, and implement evidence-based interventions. The paper explores how advanced practice nurses (APNs) contribute to preventive healthcare, chronic disease management, and culturally competent care in under-resourced areas. Drawing on global case studies, the role of nurse-led research and collaborative innovation is analyzed in detail. The paper also delves into institutional and educational challenges faced by nurses globally and discusses the long-term scope of global nursing advancement. Ultimately, the integration of nursing leadership in health equity strategies is presented as essential for achieving sustainable, people-centered healthcare systems worldwide.
