Advancing Nursing Education Globally: Integrating Research, Ethics, and Policy in Practice

Prof. Nandita P. Verghese

Abstract

Education forms the backbone of advanced nursing practice. In an era where healthcare needs are rapidly evolving, nursing education must transcend traditional methods to incorporate global research, ethics, and policy engagement. This paper reviews modern trends in global nursing education including interprofessional learning, simulation-based training, and curriculum reforms guided by global health priorities. The role of international nursing collaborations, academic exchanges, and research mentorship in developing critical thinking and ethical reasoning is explored. Policy recommendations are also presented to align nursing education with universal healthcare goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), making nurses effective advocates and change agents.
