Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic revealed the strengths and vulnerabilities of global healthcare systems, placing nurses at the frontline of an unprecedented crisis. This paper examines the international nursing response during the pandemic, analyzing how countries with varying healthcare infrastructures coped with shortages, burnout, and evolving clinical demands. Emphasis is placed on the adaptability, leadership, and resilience of nurses in hospitals, community clinics, and emergency settings. It also explores post-pandemic innovations in infection control, psychological support for frontline workers, and the expansion of the nursing role in tele-triage and vaccination programs. Data from global nursing surveys and WHO reports are used to derive cross-border lessons and future directions for pandemic preparedness.
