ABSTRACT Samuel Hahnemann's first aphorism from the Organon of Medicine states: "The physician's high and only mission is to restore the sick to health, to cure, as it is termed." This foundational principle establishes curing as the physician's primary vocation while rejecting speculative theorizing that does not aid patients. This paper examines how Aphorism 1 remains ethically and practically relevant in contemporary medicine, addressing patient-centered care, the tension between curing and treating, holistic approaches, and modern healthcare system challenges.
